Approval is subject to the conditions regularly imposed on this
type of baggage system. These conditions apply to the application of
weight-related baggage systems to any passengers whose ultimate
ticketed origin or destination is a point in the untied States.
For these Passengers, only piece-related baggage system shall apply,
including any travel beyond the US-foreign gateway legs of the
journeys.

- First and Business Class: 2 pieces, maximum size ( H+W+L )
per piece 158cm ( 62 in ). Maximum weight per piece 32kg ( 70 ).
Total maximum size: 316 cm ( 124 in ).
- Economy Class: 2 pieces, maximum size ( H+W+L ) of first
piece 158cm ( 62 in ) and the maximum size of th3e second piece
not to exceed 140 cm. Maximum weight per piece 32 kg ( 70 lbs ).
Maximum combined size of two pieces may not exceed 298 cm
( 106 in )
- Baggage allowance for children under the age of two years
not occupying a seat: 1 piece of free baggage, maximum weight
32kg ( 70 lbs ), maximum size 115 cm ( 45 in )

SA Airways Code Share and Alliance partner flights (SA 1000, SA
7000, and SA 8000 series ). The above is subject to change at any

Any single piece of baggage weighing more than 32 kg will not be
accepted for carriage, and in excess of the following dimensions:

| Cabin Baggage: |
|
Your one piece of hand luggage should be no
more than 23cm wide, 52cm long and 40cm high, and its weight should
not exceed 8kg on all SAA flights excluding flights mentioned below.
Flights operated from Europe, including the
UK. (London, Frankfurt, Zurich & Paris)
Passenger will only be allowed ONE piece of cabin
baggage not exceeding 56cm in length by 45cm in width and 25cm in
depth.
All other hand carried items, inclusive of
hand bags, laptop computers, wedding gowns and cell phones
MUST form part of this one piece of cabin baggage and may not be
carried loose.

NEW SECURITY PROCEDURES: |
|
The Department for Transport (DofT)
has announced new security regulations, which harmonize security
procedures across the European Union (EU). This aligns processes
across Europe, allowing Heathrow to remain consistent and
competitive within the European market.
The regulations will come into effect from
Monday 6 November 2006 and apply to both passenger and staff search
areas.

| Safety Notice: |
| Most governments have directed that for safety
reasons, all knives and sharp objects of any kind and any length,
whether metal or any other material, and some sporting goods must be
packed in checked baggage, they cannot be carried in the cabin
baggage not on person. These items include ( but are not limited to
) knives and knife-like objects, box cutters, corkscrews with
blades, straight razors, metal nail files, scissors of any kind and
any length, dangerous goods ( hazardous materials unless approved ),
tradesmen's tools, hypodermic needles ( unless required for medical
reasons(, knitting needles, other sharp pointed / penetrating
objects and sporting goods such as bats, bows and arrows, cues,
darts, gold clubs and sling shots ( Catapults ), martial arts
devices, real / toy / replica weapons (whether plastic or metal).
These articles will be removed and not returned. SAA has no
liability whatsoever regarding the loss of the above mentioned
articles. Passengers requiring the use of medical syringes in
flight, such as diabetic and other passengers with documented proof
of medical need must ensure that it is professionally packed and
labeled. If not, the medication will be removed. |

Baggage: |
| In addition to your free baggage allowance, which is
shown on your ticket, you may carry, without additional charges, the
following personal effects subject to space availability for use in
enplaning, deplaning or in flight only when retained in your
custody; except that infant's carrying basket, a fully collapsible
invalid's wheelchair and / or a pair of crutches may be carried in
the passenger or cargo compartment of the aircraft: |
- A handbag, pocketbook or purse, which is appropriate to
normal traveling dress and is not being used as a container for
the transportation of articles which would otherwise be regarded
as baggage.
- An overcoat, wrap or blanket, an umbrella or walking stick.
- a small camera and accessories and / or a pair of
binoculars.
- Computers and accessories ( notebooks and notepads )
- Cellular phones
- Legal and / or company documents.
- Legal tender ( cash cards or cheques )
- Bullion ( Gold, silver, etc. ) Leather jackets.
- All types of jewelry.
- A reasonable amount of reading matter for the flight
- Infant's food for consumption in-flight.
- Infant's carrying basket.
- A fully collapsible invalid's wheelchair and / or a pair of
crutches, and / or braces or other prosthetic device for the
passenger's use; provided that the passenger is dependent upon
them.
- One piece of hand baggage suitable for placing in closed
overhead rack or under the passenger's seat and a weight of 7kg
(15lbs) and with maximum dimensions (the sum of three
dimensions) not exceeding 115cm (45in)
- Knives and other articles not likely to pass the security
check-point of passengers and cabin baggage should be placed in
your baggage that is to be check-in.
